Improvement of water supply, installation of stand-alone systems for electricity supply and support the construction of wells are only three of the current projects of Engineers Without Borders. This non-profit organization composed mainly of engineers active in various sectors as well as students of engineering. All have the same goal: to help with scientific and technical methods wherever help is needed. They provide support to other organizations through knowledge transfer and are also involved itself in the implementation of local projects. Engineers Without Borders is a member of Engineers Without Borders International network and thus also internationally. Not only in Marburg, where the club is located, you can use his help. In German, there are many cross-regional groups caring for their own projects. Only through active labor and assistance in such a regional group, the organization can be kept on running. The work of Engineers Without Borders can be permanently supported as a sustaining member.
Improvement of water supply in Bolivia: In the neighboring villages of Santa Ana, and Siete Suyos Chocaya Ánimas in southwest Bolivia, there are no surface water streams and the people of this region suffer from water shortages strak. The only river in the area of mining is heavily contaminated with heavy metals. The people in the villages have drinking water from distant sources, the little difficulty buying and transporting homecoming. It is to them only a fraction of the amount of water, as we have them every day in Germany available at your disposal. The water is lacking not only for drinking and for sanitation, it is often not sufficient. Engineers Without Borders have launched after the successful exploration of 2009, a water supply of the villages. Furthermore, sanitary facilities are planned as the construction of toilets. This project has already helped many people. Another example of the work of Engineers Without Borders Sustainable Energy is the concept of a hospital in Nepal. Nepal is known that there is no single power supply, and only, which are incomplete, there is a State power grid. Thus many Nepalese to simple systems such as generators or Solaranalgen depend. To ensure uninterrupted power supply for essential operations or basic medical care to a sustainable energy strategy has been installed in the hospital. In collaboration with the technical manager of the hospital for a sophisticated approach was developed.
